Whew….what a week. We started out last weekend with Cece having the stomach flu. Then Glenna got it so I kept them home on Monday for another day of rest. Then we were all back to normal schedule Tuesday and Wednesday….
But alas Glenna at her lunch at home that day because their stomach flu bug caught up to me at 1 a.m. that morning. I came to a full understanding of why the girls just stayed on the couch curled up in the fetal position moaning when they were sick…UGH. In a 36 hour period I lost 10 lbs…yeah I was that sick. It was not fun at all. I am still kind of weak. I ended up missing work Thursday and Friday. Now we’re all on Christmas Vacation while school and Head Start is off until January 7th.
They were only a little excited….honest….
Then today we stayed inside firstly because….
Secondly because I’m still not back to full strength yet so we did some coloring…..
Then it was time to enjoy….
We finished dinner with some Christmas music….
Now we’re relaxing and watching TV while I write and then do some sewing. So there now we’re all caught up. Seventeen more sleeps until we go back to our normal schedule…Yes we’re counting down. Cece doesn’t understand and does not do well with vacation/holiday times. Not only is she not in school but also her 5 hours of one on one therapy takes the same holiday time off plus her primary care provider is on vacation too…sigh…. Thankfully we do have a back up provider who will be coming the 26th-28th and 2nd-4th for 3 hours of day habilitation services per day on those days. But it’s just such a huge change from her normally very full days. Sigh….
T minus 3 days until Christmas! I’ve decided that this Christmas will be just us Strongheart Girls. No overwhelming family dinners that last way too long and offer way too much sensory overload and impulse control issues for Cece. Nope we’re enjoying a nice calm holiday at home with just us. We haven’t done that since Segundo died and I intend to cherish every minute of this two weeks off. Gotta soak up time with my girls since these time now come less frequently since I’m working full time.
I hope y’all are having a great holiday season!
