December is upon us, the holiday season has started. Thanksgiving is over and now the next session of holidays begin. During this holiday season we give thanks for what we have while at the same time helping those who are less fortunate. Anyone who has been following my blog since I started in July of 2011 knows that my girls and I spent 5 months living in a domestic violence shelter, The LeeShore Center.
The LeeShore Center helped us and others immensely. They help families and victims of domestic violence 365 days a year. Last night I made a donation to the center and I invite my readers to help this marvelous organization. There is no minimum to donate, they use Paypal so it’s very quick and easy.
Please join me in spreading a little holiday cheer this month. Help bring some holiday cheer to victims of domestic violence who will be spending their holiday in shelter this year. Thank you in advance for your donation to this wonderful organization.
For those of you here on the Kenai Peninsula you can also drop off donations at the center. They have a clothes closet that accepts gently used clothes that they then give out to the needy FREE of charge. Also they are always in need of other donations; their WISH LIST can be found HERE! I’m going to be making a trip to Walmart later this month to buy somethings to donate, things I know I would’ve liked to have had in shelter.
There are so many ways to give. If you cannot afford to donate anything you can always donate your time, the shelter is always looking for volunteers! Give them a call (907) 283-9479 to find out how you can help.
