Happiness Daily June 12, 2012

Happiness is our Garden!  Our garden just keeps growing and growing both in number of containers and the plants too!  We now have 32 containers plus 3 vertical pallet gardens.  Today Glenna and I finished another vertical planter and transplanted most of the spinach and lettuce (I think that’s all that was in there.  With my not thinking to label everything we planted seeds in and Cece’s helping and planting seeds too…who knows what’s where? but it’s okay b/c it’s all growing!)

So assuming that the seedlings survive the transplant we should have an entire planter of salad!!  We’ll see what happens those seedlings were awfully delicate and not easy to transplant (fingers crossed!)

Also today while Cece was in OT and Speech therapies Glenna and I braved the rain and did a little shopping and walking around in Soldotna.  We stopped in at one of the thrift stores and they had a huge bin full of baskets.  None of them were priced so I asked how much they were.  The owner sold me six baskets for $5!  It was great and Glenna and I turned them into planters today also!

The girls love to garden especially the digging and the watering!  Although today Glenna was having more fun running around puddle jumping but did help some while Cece was at dayhab.  Here are some pictures of our “garden”.  Enjoy!

The new vertical pallet planter fill with salad veggies! I used some whiteish material that had been lying around unused on this one. Not sure I like how it looks but it serves its purpose!
