Happy Birthday Segundo Nov. 27, 1970 – August 18, 2009

We celebrate your birth today

Even though you were taken away

Think of you often, even you’re not here

Fond memories, sadness, we hold you dear

To short together was our time

Your death occurred in your prime

The pain’s still here, it will never leave

But your spirit surrounds us I believe

Miss you so, the tears often fall

Wishing to you we could simply call

Memories bring smiles and sometimes tears

We were supposed to be together for years and years

But here we are, for you are gone

The sun still rises without you every dawn

Ahead we go, forward we must trudge

Your memory frozen, it doesn’t budge

So today we will celebrate

The day of your birth, a special date

Miss you so, the hurt cuts deep

Cry as I write this, my heart does weep

Love you always, in my heart you remain

Our lives now different and never the same

Happy Birthday my love as you watch from above

Remember you always, my heart filled with sad love

As I sat down to write this poem I had been listening to this song over and over as it perfectly expresses my feelings at this time.

FOREVER  By:  Rascal Flatts

Here’s another great song…  I BELIEVE by Diamond Rio

Here’s Segundo’s Birthday Cake.  The girls and I will enjoy tonight after a special birthday dinner in his memory.
